Sourrounding Area

There are many things to see around us, as we are on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire.

The Yorkshire Dales, The Trough of Bowland, Burnley, Howarth, and Skipton are within easy reach and Blackpool, Manchester, Bradford, and Leeds are about one hour away. Even The Lake District and York make a good day excursion.
So visit us in Wycoller and experience life in the countryside.

You can walk into Wycoller with it's Old Hall reputedly Ferndean Manor in Jane Eyre, or look round the Craft Centre or Museum. Have a bite to eat in the cafe or just sit next to the stream watching the water flowing under the Pack Horse Bridge.

A short distance away is Howarth where the cobbled street, with it's shops and galleries, leads to the Parsonage, furnished as it was when the Bronte Sisters wrote their famous books. Further in the village you can take a ride on the Worth Valley Railway where the film "The Railway Children" was made. The wealth of interest in Pendle Witch Country can take you (if you feel energetic enough) to the top of Pendle Hill where the views are magificent - you can even see Parson Lee.

You can visit the sleepy little villages of Pendleside, including Roughlee, where Alice Nutter, one of the Pendle Witches lived, and Newchurch-In-Pendle, where there is a souvenir shop called "Witches Galore", and Barrowford, which has one of the best heritage centres of the area.
